Marcill Moncrief, 85, of North Little Rock passed away Thursday, April 7, 2011. She was born in El Paso, AR to the late Floyd and Etta Cummings Burns.

Marcill was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Troy Moncrief; and four brothers, Chelcie, A.D., Troy, and Bedford Burns.

Marcill was a loving and caring homemaker, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, neighbor and friend. She will be remembered for her generosity; cheer; wonderful skills of gardening, cooking and sewing; and her practice of telling it like it is. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by two sons, James Troy Moncrief, Jr. and his wife, Inn, of Chattanooga, TN, and David Bruce Moncrief and his wife, Julie, of Ft. Smith, AR; three grandchildren, James Troy Moncrief, III of Chattanooga, TN, Lillian and Ellen Moncrief of Ft. Smith, AR; two great-grandchildren, Ada and Everest Moncrief of Chattanooga, TN; two sisters, Bea Shock and Louise Cearley; three brothers, Hack, McCoy and Bill Burns; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 11, 2011 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel (501-791-7400) with Reverend Gerry Claybrook officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in Little Rock, AR. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, April 10, 2011 at the funeral home.
