Clara was the daughter of Richard William Cole and Lucy Ellen Robinson. She was born on 26 February 1901 in what was then a part of the Choctaw Nation in the "Indian Territory"--somewhere in what is now southern Oklahoma.
She married John Allen Males on 16 September 1922 in Hugo, (Choctaw Co.) OK and they were the parents of six children: Mildred Myrtle, Jesse Lee, Roy Allen, Thelma Lucille, John Richard, and Jennetta Evelyn. John preceded her in death in September of 1960.
Clara passed away in Shawnee, (Pottawatomie Co.) OK on 13 October 1985 and was laid to rest next to her husband in the Highland Cemetery in Stonewall, (Pontotoc Co.) OK.
