Rincon - Hugh Broughton McDonald, 87 of Rincon, Georgia, passed away on June 23, 2016 at his residence.

Mr. McDonald was born in Metter, Georgia, on July 2, 1928, to Johnny Horton McDonald and Mamie Estelle Owens. He is predeceased in death by four brothers and three sisters. Mr. McDonald graduated from Metter High School and joined the United States Army shortly after graduation. He retired from IP after 44 years of employment and was a member of Rincon First Baptist Church.

Mr. McDonald loved to garden, loved to laugh, loved facts and had an incomparable memory. He was a vault of sports, geography, history, and science information. He loved his wife, his family, and his Lord.

Mr. McDonald is survived by his wife of 64 years, Kathleen McDonald, children, Rhonda McDonald, Owen McDonald (Tracy), and Wade McDonald (Kim); five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church of Rincon with funeral services following at 4 p.m.

Burial will be at Effingham Memorial Gardens in Springfield, Georgia.
