The son of Violet Rose Taylor & Leonard Lee Taylor of Mercer County, WV.
Bryant was named for his maternal grandfather, Bryant Rose. His middle name was the middle name of his paternal grandfather, John Taylor. Born at Montcalm, he was Violet's first son. He worked at some of the CCC camps, coming home as he could.
His sisters anticipated and enjoyed his visits home - they always fondly remembered his kindness on these visits.

Bryant was unable to finish his education due to being drafted.
He was wounded in service of his country, a Veteran of WWII. According to his sisters, he told them he laid in a foxhole for five days before he was found, somewhere in Europe (his nephew adds that he recalls hearing that Bryant was in the D-Day invasion at Normandy).
His mother worried and prayed.
They were told he was missing in action.
He was sent to the university hospital at Charlottesville, Virginia, and his parents traveled there to see him.
Bryant spent the latter years of his life in a wheelchair. He was a serious, contemplative, rational man.
Husband of Frances (Kleric) Taylor, his second wife - they had a residence in Chicago.
His first wife was named Adelaide; she was killed in an automobile accident. That would have been 1951. There was a small mention of that in the newspaper in Bluefield, WV.
Family said that Bryant was also injured in this crash.
His family attended a funeral for Adelaide in Chicago (this from his last living sister, and an article from the Bluefield Daily Telegraph newspaper).
NOTE: I have no record of her maiden name, date of marriage, or place of her burial.
*Note - to my knowledge, Bryant had no children.
Photograph, property of the family.

Thanks to the volunteer photographer for the image.
Thanks also, to the very gracious man at the cemetery office, for verifying the plot for me.
