The funeral service for Dean Towson of Nashville, who died Sunday, December 31, 1995 in Berrien County Hospital, was held Tuesday, January 2, 1996 in Nashville United Methodist Church. He was 50.

Rev. Benjy Varnell, Rev. Tegler Greer, and Rev. Jim Burnham officated at the 4:00 p.m. service with interment in Westview Cemetery.

The deceased was born December 23, 1945 in Irwin County to Earnest D. "Hamp" and Alice Fitzgerald Towson. A member of Nashville United Methodist Church where he served as head of the usher board, he was a partner in the insurance agency of Taylor, Towson and Gaskins and served as a director for the Bank of Alapaha. He also served as a director for The Georgia Sheriffs Boy's Ranch and was an active volunteer for the Berrien County Unit of The American Cancer Society. Mr. Towson was an avid long distance runner and airplane pilot.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Burnham Towson of Nashville; four daughters: Marya, Audra, Jodi, Kasey Towson, all of Nashville; his mother: Alice Towson of Ocilla; two sisters: Doris Hasty of Stone Mountain and Nancy Alford of Milledgeville. His father, Hamp Towson and a sister: Bonnie Towson preceded him in death.
