Junior Lee Belcher, 83, of Raymertown, died suddenly Monday, April 17, 2006 at his residence. Born in Watertown, N.Y., he was the son of the late Albert and Julia Rube Belcher and the widower of Mary E. Brooks. Junior was educated in the Watervliet Public School System and was a United States Army veteran of World War II. He retired after 33 years from Adirondack Steel where he worked as a coreman. He was a member of the Colonie Elks, a former member of the Cohoes Moose Lodge and V.F.W. Post 729 in Watervliet. Junior was an avid carpenter and auto enthusiast. He enjoyed his trips to Hampton Beach. His most memorable trip was with his wife Mary, to whom he was married for 50 years, and their adventure to Nashville, Tenn. Survivors include two sisters, Thelma Green of Waterford and Shirley Shagalski of Clifton Park. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, especially Sharon and Hank Gendron, Wayne Belcher and Daniel Green Jr.; grandnephew, Devin Belcher (The Little Man); and many friends at Gendron's Getty in North Troy. He was the brother of the late Kenneth Belcher, Leland Belcher, Gaylord Belcher, Lionel Belcher, Ronald Belcher, Dawson Belcher, Zelda Riley, Gladys Belcher, Marion Belcher and Bruce Belcher.
