[Obit] William Meredith Harriss was born in Adams Co.,Ill., May 23,1844 and died at Myrtle Point May 5,1916 being 72 years 2 months and 12 days old. He crossed the plains with his parents over the trail behind an ox team in 1853 and settled in the Willamette Valley. Mr. Harriss was united in marriage to Ida E. Agler, Aug.27,1888. Survivors are his wife, 5 children and 8 grandchildren, 2 sisters and one brother. (MPE-8/10/1916)
