MUSCATINE, Iowa -- Mae I. Kemper, formerly of 3470 New Era Road, Muscatine, died Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, at Muscatine Care Center. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Burial will be in Parr Cemetery. Visitation is 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mae Fix was born Sept. 15, 1911, in Blue Grass. She married Theodore Kemper in 1939 in Blue Grass. They owned and operated Kemper's Store, New Era. He died in 1999. Memorials may be made to Ziegler Memorial Lutheran Church. Survivors include daughters, Ruby Culbertson, Moline, Iona Reid, West Branch, and Sharon Conklin, Muscatine; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Donald Fix, West Liberty.
