Harry Bise was the eldest child born to Mary Edna Ogdon and Harry Louis Bise. He had a younger brother, Jack. He grew up in East St. Louis, Illinois where he owned a tug boat and entered the family grocery business. He married Delores Coker and had two daughters, Brenda and Terrie. Later in life he remarried Claudene Taylor of Edwardsville, Illinois. He was a life long member of the Ainad Temple, and was Potentate in 1969. He moved to New Hampshire in the early 1970s where he owned several grocery stores, including Bise's IGA in Merrimack.
