A native of Perry County, Mrs. Qualls was the wife of the late Louis Richardson Qualls, and the daughter of the late Thomas and Amanda French Kelley. She was a garment machine operator and a member of the Nunnelly United Methodist Church.
She leaves two sons: Joe Qualls of Nunnelly, and Lonnie Qualls of Centerville; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
