The eldest son of Bertram Gratz and Elizabeth (Betty) Synder Gratz. He was born in Norristown, Montgumery County, PA. Married just slightly less than 40 years (10/27/62) to his loving & devoted wife J. (Josephine) Janice McLaughlin-McGrody Gratz. Father of Christopher Bertram, Jonathan Charles and Cynthia Jennifer Gratz. Grandfather to Christopher John Gratz.
Brother to David M. (Nancy) and Thomas W. (Marguarite [Bunny]) Gratz.
Bert was raised in the Norristown area and was a graduate of St. Patrick's High School in Norristown, PA. Then attended and was a graduate of Villanova University, Villanova, PA; where he was captain of the Debating Team in 1958. He was an enlistee in the U.S. Army National Guard and recieved an honorable discharge. Bert was an active member of St. Joan of Arc Parish in Marlton, NJ. He was the founder and president of two companies Bertram C. Gratz & Associates and Modern Gas Products. Bert was a congenial and insightful independent sales representative for a variety of companies who made friends with so many of his clients with his honest and witty personality.
