Professional Race Car Driver. He was one of the greatest Argentine drivers, and one of the fiercest rivals of the great Juan Manuel Fangio. Oscar and his younger brother Juan wrote the history of the Argentine motorsport for four decades. Both brothers accumulated 14 Argentine Championships and 110 wins. Oscar Galvez was the son of a mechanic, and he learned his skills since he was a boy. In 1937 he made his debut in a Turismo Carretera (road races) Gran Premio, impressed everybody. During his long career he always drove Fords, except in some monoposto races, which drove Alfa Romeo and Maserati single seaters. He won 5 Turismo Carretera championships (1947, 1948, 1953, 1954 and 1961) and 6 vice-championships (1939,1949,1956,1957,1958,1960). He retired from motorsport in 1964, becoming technical adviser at Ford Motor Argentina.
