ALBANY -- Barbara `Mello` Ross-Mendoza, born March 13, 1961 in Wetumpka, Ala. to Matthew Ross, N.J., and Ruth Ross (Richard), Albany, N.Y. passed away suddenly November 15, 2003. Mello graduated from Albany High School and was recently employed by Stewart's. She loved to laugh, dance and shop. She always had a smile that made everyone around her smile. She will be remembered for the love she had for her children, family and life. Barbara (Mello) will be deeply missed by her husband, Damian Mendoza, Albany, N.Y.; four children, Demone Shepard, Dontae Shepard, Shantell Shepard and Nieria Thomas, all of Albany, N.Y.; three sisters, Virginia Jackson (Lewis), Melissa (Sugar) Milner, Albany, N.Y. and Sharon (Shahonda) Ross, Bronx, N.Y.; four brothers, Vinnesse (Caro), Joshon (Leona), Jaquard Ross, all of Albany, N.Y. and Michael (Jamel) Ross, Schenectady, N.Y.; and five grandchildren; special friend; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be held Friday, November 21, 2003 at Metropolitan Baptist Church, 105 Second St., Albany, N.Y. from 11:00 with viewing from 10:00-11:00. Burial immediately following at Graceland Cemetery.
