Richard served as a Flight Officer on B-24E #41-28548 in the 356th Bomber Squadron, 302nd Bomber Group, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided at 17 Pullman Avenue, Rochester, Monroe County, New York prior to the war.

He enlisted in the service on August 12, 1942 in Rochester, New York.

Richard was declared "Missing In Action" in the "Line Of Duty" when his B-24, after taking off from Chatham Field, Savannah, Georgia, on mission to Batista Field, Cuba with other B-24's, crashed into the Atlantic Ocean off Jacksonville, Florida during the war.

This record is a "Cenotaph" in his honor.
