Mrs. Bingham was born in Warren county, Illinois, December 2, 1864, and married in September, 1880. She and her husband, the late John F. Bingham came to Washington territory by cattle train eight years later, and to Oregon City the year following. In 1893-4 the family made the round trip to Illinois and back by horse and wagon.
Mother of 12 children, Mrs. Bingham is survived by eight: George E., Jesse J. and May Burrows, all of Portland; Nora Rhodes of Pendleton; Otis W. and Robert E. of San Antonio, Texas; Lloyd E., National City, Cal., and Frank, Philadelphia, Pa. There are 18 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren, as well as four sisters and a brother. Mrs Bingham was a member of the Centenary Wilbur Methodist Church, and was a active in the Volunteers of America.
