Charles' parents were Harvey Franklin Braden and Minnie Delphia King Braden. Charles was one of two deaf children in the family. Charles attended deaf school in California and the Oklahoma School for the Deaf in Sulphur, Oklahoma. Charles and Johnnie were married January 23, 1954, in Chandler, Lincoln County, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his wife, Johnnie Lou Watson Braden; his parents and a son, Charles Allen Braden. He is survived by daughter, Velma Jean Braden McComas; sons Lester Ray Braden and Jeffrey Lynn Braden; thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.
