ELMER SPETTEL

Elmer A. Spettel, 77, of 3119 Main Ave., Sheboygan, died Sunday, April 10, at
Sheboygan Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Nickel-Lippert Funeral Home,
Sheboygan. The Rev. George Mohr, pastor of Zion United Church of Christ will
officiate and burial will be in the Town of Schleswig Cemetery.
Mr. Spettel was born Dec. 28, 1905, in the Town of Schleswig, son of the late
John and Pauline Bosma Spettel. He married Meta Schilling, Jan. 29, 1929, at
Kiel, Wis. Mr. Spettel was employed as a welder at Manitowoc Shipbuilding
Company for 27 years, retiring in 1972. He was a member of Zion United Church
of Christ, Sheboygan.
Survivors include his wife, Meta, three sons. LeRoy of Sheboygan Falls and Gary
and Jeffery of Sheboygan; seven daughters, Marilyn Pentek, Mrs. Howard (LaVerne)
Boeldt, Barbara Lalley, Mrs. Eugene (Betty Mae) Jeske, Bonnie Butzen all of
Sheboygan, Mrs. Wesley (Audrey) Ross of Janesville, Wis. and Mrs. Barrett (Becky)
Paasch of Cleveland; a sister, Mrs. Clyde Hagenow of Kiel; 22 grandchildren and
seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson.
Friends may call at Nickel-Lippert Funeral Home, Sheboygan, 4 o'clock to 9 o'clock
this Tuesday afternoon, and Wednesday until the time of services. A memorial fund
has been established.

At a ceremony performed by the Rev. Otto Saewert at his home in this city Saturday
afternoon, Miss Meta Schilling, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schilling of New
Holstein was united in marriage to Elmer Spettel, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Spettel
of this vicinity.
