FAIRMONT — Freda Violet Smith Hall, 93, of Fairmont, passed away on Friday, July 16, 2010, at the Pierpont Nursing Home in Fairmont. She was born September 22, 1916, in Masontown, WV, a daughter of the late Firl M. and Ressie F. Radabaugh Smith.
Mrs. Hall was a graduate of Masontown High School and was a 50+ year member of the First Baptist Church in Fairmont. At First Baptist, she was a member of the Baptist Women, Deacon Board and Women's Circle. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, shopping, cooking, camping and traveling.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, WD Hall, whom she married on June 12, 1949; three sons, Bill and his wife Carol Hall, of Fairmont, Ron and his wife Debbie Hall, of Oceana, WV, David and his wife Penny Hall of Philippi; Sisters, Vesta McVicker of Atlanta, Vada Davis of Arthurdale, WV, Velma Benoit and her husband Bob of Brookhaven, WV, Arlyne and her husband Lloyd Menear of Phoenix, AZ, Nancy Weaver of Fairmont; Grandchildren, Ezra Hall of Fairmont, Bethany Hall of Philippi, Zoe Hall of Fairmont; Sister-in-law, Evelyn Smith of Middletown, OH.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Yvonne Chuby, who passed away in 1979; Brothers and sisters, Cliff Smith, Wilmer Smith, Fern Bibeault, Warren B Smith; Brothers-in-law, Bill McVicker, Paul Davis, Roy Weaver, Willis Bibeault; sisters-in-law, Julia Smith and Nina Smith.
