Nancy Etta Alley, daughter of Levi K Alley and Harriet (Foss) Alley, born in Jonesport, Maine, first married Charles Tabbutt Norton (1821-1881), a Civil War Soldier and son of Abraham D Norton and Anna (Tabbutt) Norton. Charles and Nancy had 3 children, Betsey E Norton(1874-1927), James Henry Norton(1878-1945) (m.Vena Edna (Norton) Norton) and Asa Wellington Norton(1880-1961) (m. Josie E Torrey). Charles died in 1881 and the following year Nancy, at 26 years of age, married Capt Eben Church Beal (1834-1891), of Beals, Maine, son of Asa, Beal Jr and Rebecca (Church) Beal. Nancy and Eben, had 5 children, Sarah Jane Beal(1883-1973)(m. Napoleon Rogers Beal), Mary Ann Beal(1885-1963)(m. Coleman Fisher Lamson), Charles Eben Beal(1887-1972)(m. Effie M Smith), Oscar H Beal(1888-1929)(m. Minnie R Hurley) and Eben Church, Jr (1890-1893). In 1894, Nancy married James B Stanwood (1864-1930), son of Daniel Chase Stanwood and Susanna Orr (Ramsdell) Stanwood. RIP, someday I will find your burial place dear cousin.
