MRS. CARL ALFORD, 68

Rising Star – Services for Mrs. Carl [Eula Belle] Alford, 68, of Rising Star, will be held at 3 p.m. today in First Baptist Church at Rising Star with the Rev. Harry Hames officiating. Burial will be in Rising Star Cemetery under the direction of Higginbotham Funeral Home of Rising Star.

Mrs. Alford died at 4:40 p.m. Friday in Austin. She was born June 16, 1894 in Southwest City, Mo. She was married July 12, 1916 in Eastland.

Mrs. Alford had lived in Rising Star 47 years. She was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Col. D. G. [Gaston] Alford of Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls; two daughters, Mrs. Edward Watkins of Rising Star and Mrs. John Yanzy of Tyler; three brothers, R. C. Mayfield of Baird, Clyde Mayfield of Austin and Clay Mayfield of Anchorage, Alaska; three sisters, Mrs. George Goss Jr. of Rising Star, Mrs. M. B. Bernard of Austin and Mrs. Pauline Graham of Abilene, and five grandchildren.
