Yesterday, Thursday, evening, at 5 o'clock Mrs. Harriet Gushwa, of Hamilton, passed beyond the dark river, after an illness of two weeks. For the past week her life has been despaired of and for several days she has not been able to lie down, but sat up in a chair with her head resting on her arms on a stand before her, suffering great pain all the time. Mrs. Gushwa was about seventy-three years old, the widow of David Gushwa, who died ten or twelve years ago, and was also the half sister of Mrs. J. L Pack and grandmother of J. T. Hughes, of this place.
The remains will be laid to rest in the Hamilton Cemetery at 11 o'clock today. Rev. Erskin, of Marysville, has been sent for to conduct the services.
