Mr. Hosley James Gravley, 81, of 19524 Crystal Rock Drive, Germantown, died Wednesday, Dec. 19 at the VA Hospital in Martinsburg, W. Va. He was the husband of Clarice Gravley.
Born in Virginia, he was the son of the late Lewis and Matilda May [Higgins] Gravely*. Mr. Gravley was a veteran of World War II, serving with the US Army.
Surviving besides his wife are three daughters, Stella Neumaker of Silver Spring, Martha Sexton of West Virginia, and Edith Flower of Dickerson; four sons, Hosley Gravley, Jr. of Kensington, Earl C. Gravley, Sr. of Damascus, Ralph Gravley of Louisiana and Ernest Gravley of Dickerson; one brother, George Gravley of Virginia; and 20 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, and Friday, Dec. 21, at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Road, Barnesville. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville.
NOTE: The spelling of his last name should be GRAVELY as it appears in all the census records of his family in Virginia.
