Marvin Charley Lange of Mason, Texas, passed away in his home on Tuesday, November 10th at the age of 98 years surrounded by family and friends.

Marvin was born January 25, 1911, at Onion Creek near Doss, Texas, in Gillespie County to Tully James and Otilla "Tillie" Fuege Lange. Marvin grew up on a farm where his father owned a store and ran the Post Office at Yates, Texas, located about 300 yards from Yates Crossing on the South side of the Llano River until the early 1930's. He graduated from Ivy High School near London, Texas.

Marvin married Karlita Hofmann on May 12, 1937, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mason, Texas. They continued to be active members during their lives. The couple spent 62 years in the home they built together in Koocksville. In 1938 Marvin began operating a feed store and chick hatchery in Mason. During the drought in 1952 he delivered Holsum bread to Llano, Mason, Pontotoc, Fredonia and Cherokee he continued these routes for many years. In 1969 Mr. Lange was elected Justice of the Peace for Mason County and retired in February 1976. He and Karlita enjoyed the country life of hunting, fishing, and taking care of Spanish goats, sheep, and cattle on his property near Streeter. He continued to live at home with his dog MJ and safely drive himself as needed.

The family wishes to thank Shirlene Carson for her dedicated care for almost 16 years, the Gals of Country Home Health, Shanna Price and Jerry Wright of the Senior Center for bringing joy into his life every day.
