Judge Landers for many years took quite a prominent part in the business affairs of his section. He organized, and was for a time the working head of the Landers Banking Company, now controlled by his son C F Landers Twice he was elected presiding judge of the county court, retiring from that office in 1902, since which time, up to the death of his wife, a few months ago, he had devoted his time almost exclusively to her care, during the lingering illness of tuberculosis.
