Robert came with his parents to New Mexico in 1916. He was a veteran, having served during World War I.
On 14 Aug 1924, Robert married Lillie Mae Browning. Robert and Lillie had the following children: Robert Stanley, Donald Ernest, Zelma Dean, Roy Allen, and Benjamin Harlan.
He moved to Clovis in 1949 and worked as a water pumper and treater for the AT&SF railroad for 32 years. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Robert died, age 85, at Clovis High Plains Hospital.
Survivors include his wife Lillie of the home at 728 Manana; four sons, Robert S. Boyd Jr. and Donald Earnest Boyd of Clovis, Bennie Harlan Boyd of Boise, Idaho, and Roy Allen Boyd of El Paso, Texas; one daughter, Mrs. Zelma Boyd Self of Clovis.
Funeral services for Robert were at the Steed-Todd Funeral Home.
