Mrs. W. O. James


Funeral services for Mrs. W. O. James, 79, who died suddenly from a heart attack Friday at her home, 601 West Day, were conducted last Saturday at Johnson-Moore funeral home with burial near McKinney at the birth place of Mrs. James. A sister, Mrs. Bertha Looper, died almost at the same hour here and funeral services were conducted Friday. Also a brother, Roy Clyde Scott, died almost at the same hour in Houston from a heart attack. His funeral was here Saturday.


Mrs. James was born at Glen Rose Feb. 2, 1881, and received her schooling at Blue Ridge. She and W. O. James, a contractor, were married at McKinney, Nov. 11, 1906. He died in 1931.


Mrs. James had lived in Denison 29 years, coming here from Caddo. She was a member of the Baptist church.


Surviving are an adopted son, Harold Grider, Bartlesville, Okla.; two daughters, Mrs. Claude Johnson, Denison, and Mrs. Bonnie Weakley, Atoka, Okla.; three sisters, Mrs. Scott of 731 West Monterey, and Mrs. F. B. Kersey and Mrs. Hattie Hood, Dallas; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
