Vera Fanell Brown, 93, of Parkersburg left this earthly world to join her loved ones. She passed away on June 24, 2014, at Camden Clark Medical Center.

She was born April 4, 1921, at Slate, W.Va., a daughter of the late Everett Otto and Martha Gant Stephens.

Fanell was an active member of the Stout Memorial United Methodist Church and was a member of the Camden Clark Auxiliary for 30 years. She was a loving wife, mother, family Matriarch and friend to many.

Surviving is her niece, Mrs Robert (Rebecca) Podbesek and great nephew, Brian Podbesek all of Charleston.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Sterling L. Brown; their son, Gary Brown, and her brother, Roland Stephens.

The funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th Street, Parkersburg, Reverend Paul Russell will officiate and burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The visitation will also be on Sunday from 12:30- 2:30 p.m.
