Raymond Gardner was the son of Mary Elizabeth ("Molly") Barker Gardner and Jonas Gardner, and brother of actress Ava Gardner. A dynamite cap was left too close to the fireplace where young Raymond stood eating one of his mother's biscuits. The ensuing blast killed the toddler.
