April 25, 1950 - Carroll Daily Times - Local Woman Mrs. Fred Pluckhahn, 64, who came to Carroll county at the age of four years, died at 1:13 a.m. today at Manning General hospital after a 10 day illness. On Saturday morning, Mrs. Pluckhahn had undergone surgery at the hospital. The body has been taken to the Huffman Funeral home in Carroll, where it will remain until the time of funeral services. Final rites will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the funeral home, followed by services at St. Paul Lutheran church here, with the Rev. Waldemar E. Hinck officiating. Burial will be in the Carroll cemetery.

Mrs. Pluckhahn, the former Myrtle Booth Borchert, was born Feb. 2, 1886, at Dexter, Kan., and received her education in the Carroll public schools. On Feb. 27, 1907, she married Fred Pluckhahn. She had lived in her present home for 43 years, and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran church.

Survivors include her husband; four children: Clarence C, Frederick H. and Wilbur W. of Carroll, and Mrs. Lillian Mundt of Manning; two sisters and a brother: Mrs. Selms Schirck and Mrs. Joseph Daniel of Carroll and Walter Borchert of Glidden, and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, William.
