Lois Viola Gibbs, the daughter of Herman and Meta (Bredlow) Gast was born October 8, 1924 on a farm in Liberty Township. After attending school at Liberty Township #8, she went to high school in Garner; graduating in 1942. July 11, 1945, she was married to Ronald A. Gibbs at Liberty Methodist Church northwest of Klemme.
They farmed in the Garner-Klemme area until the fall of 1978, when they moved into Garner. Lois had worked at the Blossom Shop and at Flower's by Flattery, from 1972, until January of 1989.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, past-president of U.M.W., co-chairwoman of Naomi Circle, taught Sunday School, belonged to the North Garner Community Club, Homemaker's Club, Wa Tan Ye Club; served on the Hancock County Extensilon Councile and had been a 4-H leader for the Concord Chix and also the Libey Busy Bee's.

Lois is survived by her husband, Ronald Gibbs, of Garner; two daughters, Mrs. Ronna Myers and her husband, Jerry, of Garner and Mrs. Lora Ward and her husband, Lester, of Lansing, Illinois; five grandchildren; her twin sister, Mrs Lola Fredin of Swaledale; her brother Loren Gast and his wife, Ruth, of Garner; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Helen Gast of Garner and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Zwald, of Garner.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mrs. Mildred Zwald and a brother Kenneth Gast.
