Clemmie has been my brick wall every since I found her tombstone; has the family last name of Moegelin. But as far as that I can find nothing on her. I do know when she died a baby was buried with her and that inscription is on the left side of her tombstone. I have visited the County offices, visited the cemetery sexton, sent a letter to Austin for death certificate and then visited every office I could think of in Del Rio hunting for any mention of her. I even went through every county census for 1900, 1910 page by page, of every county I knew of where my family lived. I could find nothing. I even tried to find who made the tombstone. There are no family members left that could answer any of my questions about her. It's as if she never existed. But that tombstone is there.

The baby died April 3, 1917.

Back in the early 2000's a family member of Jo Thelma Smith contacted me. She was a Skains who is a granddaughter of Benjamin Henry. She told me that Clemmie O was indeed married to Ben Henry, but due to her death in childbirth their marriage was not a long one. Her baby also died and they are both buried in the same grave. There is no name for the baby on the tombstone, only baby is carved in it. The lady that contacted me did not know Clemmie's last name. But at least I now know that she was related to the Moegelin family. She is buried next to Paul F and Sophie C Moegelin in Westlawn Cemetery in Del Rio, TX. From the look of her tombstone I am surmising it was bought and paid for by Paul who was her father in law. Clemmie's stone is very similar to Paul and Sophies. I did contact the business in San Angelo, TX that makes and sets stones in Del Rio, to see if he could tell me who set and paid for the stone. He went through his records and did not find any information. He told me that the old Doran Funeral Home in Del Rio might have that information, I told him it had closed. So my next trip to Del Rio, I will visit several funeral homes in hopes of finding the one that inherited Doran's records and unearthing more information on who Clemmie was.. I did find out from the Court House that Del Rio FH's did not start keeping records until 1918. So there may not be any records to find. One can only hope.
