Our gentle, kind & quiet, Wife, Mother and Grandmother passed away Tuesday August 19, 2003.

She was the oldest daughter and second child of William (Bill) and Elizabeth Starke Graham Milar. She was born in Mt. Pleasant, Utah on 7 November 1927, her parents immigrated from Scotland bringing the first Border Collie dogs into the Sanpete Valley to work with the large sheep herds that were located here. She died the way she lived her life, working hard. In her youth she worked and trained dogs with her brother. She competed in dog trials with these dogs and loved the challenge. She learned at a young age how to work and taught her children this important lesson. She graduated from Wasatch Academy in 1947, she later married Bert Olof Sorensen on the 8th of June 1954 in Mt. Pleasant. They raised their family in their home town of Mt. Pleasant, where she helped with the farm chores and milked the herd of cows for thirty plus years. Mom loved baby animals - calves, lambs, colts, puppies and kittens. She loved the smell of fresh cut hay and the quiet and peacefulness of the farm.
They were blessed with 3 children, Bert W. (Bill) & Neita (Jackson) Sorensen, Mt. Pleasant; James & Edith (Sorensen) Greenan, Huntington; Robert & Jeannie (Sorensen) Sorensen, Mt. Pleasant & 8 grandchildren, Katie, Michael, Elder Paul W. Sorensen serving in the Argentina Buenos Aires North Mission, Alison, Dillon, Dustin, Jacelyn and Tallen and one great grandson, Porter. She cherished the time spent with her family and was happiest when her grandchildren were at her side. We will miss her quiet sense of humor and her special laugh and the treats she always had for us. Mom never complained of her own illnesses or problems but always had time to help her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Alex Milar and sister Jessie Sorensen.
