He was manager and co-owner of Shelton Truck Stop in Star Hill. Visiting at Charlet Funeral Home, Zachary, 9:30 a.m. to religious services at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. Eddie Simmons and assisted by the Rev. Darwin Hall. Burial in Bowman-Dedon Cemetery, Star Hill. Survived by parents, Merriell and Gladys Shelton, Star Hill; and a brother, Allen J. Shelton, Star Hill. Pallbearers will be Brad Boyd, Walter Crosby, Glendale Dunn, Norwood Shelton Jr., Ricky Pace, Lance Gaudet. Honorary pallbearers are Davis Folkes, Conrad Braud, Joe Davis, Louis Melvin Dedon, Dewitt Bickham, John McKay and Phillip Garrett. He was a 1978 graduate of Sillman Institute and a member of ATO of LSU fraternity.
