She was born on July 10, 1868 at St. Charles, Idaho to John William and Mary Foster Windley. She was a member of the L.D.S. Church and a life long worker in church and civic offices. She is probably best remembered in St. Charles as a Sunday School teacher. Since moving to Garden City she has held executive offices in the M.I.A. and Relief Society, and has also served as a school board trustee.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Sims, and the following children: Everett Sims, Mitchell Sims and Mrs. Lazette Satterthwaite, Garden City; Mrs. Viola Woffinden, Layton, Utah; and Arch Sims, Mantus, Utah; also one sister, Mrs. Eleanor (Windley) Virgin, Sugar City; 22 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
