Mrs. Elmer (Myrtle) died at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Muscatine
General hospital. Her home was at 419 West 6th St. She was born Oct. 19, 1897, the daughter of Samuel and Lulu Kirk-palrick Gasaway,at Spencer County, Indiana. She had been a Muscatine resident for 35 years.
She married Elmer Truitt, Sr. April 1933 at Muscatine.
She is survived by her husband Elmer Truitt, Sr.; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Zeidier, LeClaire, Iowa; two step-
children, Elmer Truitt, Jr, Muscatine,and Mrs. Velma Cooley, St Paul Minn,six brothers, Martin Gasaway, Gary, Ind.;Forest Gasaway, Port Byron, Ill.; Rollie Gasaway, Springfield, Ohio; Arrie Gasaway,Claremont, Calif.; Sammie Gasaway, Moline,Ill.; and Charles Gasaway, Muscatinefour sisters, Mrs. Violet Ricketts, Muscatine; Mrs. Emma Scott, Evansville, Ind.;Mrs. Lenora Strueber, Kansas City, Mo.;
and Mrs. Edna Truitt, Muscatine; her mother, Mrs. Lulu Gasaway, Muscatine; and eight grandchildren.Her father, one brother and one sister preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Fairbanks chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Park cemetery
