GEORGE DEWEY CHICAGO (AP) -The only son
of Adm. George Dewey, the hero of Manila Bay in 1898, is dead at
the age of 9O.

George Goodwin Dewey, reportedly a millionaire, had been confined
to a wheelchair for nearly 13 years before his death yesterday
at his 20-room mansion on Chicago's Near North Side.

His mother was Susan Goodwin Dewey, daughter of Ichabod
Goodwin, Civil War governor of New Hampshire. The elder Dewey
was a native of Montpclier, Vt.

John Harrington, an attorney for Dewey's estate, said the will
would dispose of many relics and documents linked to his father,
most of which now are on loan to museums.

Beneficiaries would include the U. S. Naval Academy and the
Library of Congress, he said.
