Barty Q. Perkins 1917 ~ 2006 Barty Q. Perkins , age 88, died on April 4, 2006, in Salt Lake City. He was born on August 7, 1917, in Soda Springs, Idaho to Briant C. Perkins and Adah B. Perkins . He married Hazel Wood on December 10, 1938. Barty was a member of the UTU for 65 years. He served as both the local chairman and general chairman of the trainmen's union for many of those years representing fellow members. Barty was one of the founding members and was very active on the Board of Directors of the Railops Credit Union. He owned the Holladay Garage. He loved to rebuild cars with his son Bart and daughter Diane. Barty was an avid outdoorsman and loved being in the mountains and doing activities with his family and friends. He is survived by son, Bart (Irene) and daughter Diane Sharp (Steve), grandchildren and great-grand-children. He was preceded in death by wife Hazel , brother Robert and grandson Shane. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 10, 2006 at Memorial Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray. Friends and family may call between 11:00 and 12:30 Monday morning. Interment at Murray City Cemetery, 5490 South Vine Street at 1:00 pm. The family would like to express our appreciation to the Woodland Park Royal Grove staff and especially to Lance, Marie, and Cindy for filling Dad's days with caring, "spice" and dignity.
