Born in Blain, he was the son of the late Paul E. and Lelia A. (Drumgold) Kinch.
W. was a graduate of John Harris High School and attended the Harrisburg Academy and Penn State Night School. He graduated from The Evangelical School of Theology in Myerstown.
He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II having served in Africa, Italy, and France.
W. was a retired Minister of the Central Pennsylvania United Methodist Conference having served churches in Dauphin, Lebanon, Juniata, and Cumberland Counties.
He was a member of Linglestown Life United Methodist Church.
W. was a member of Robert Burns Lodge 464 Free & Accepted Masons, Harrisburg Consistory.
He was a former Speaker for the Pennsylvania Council on Alcoholic Problems in his retirement years. During that time, he also served as Visitation Pastor for several churches in the Harrisburg area.
In addition to his parents, W. was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-two years: Dorothy (Moore) Kinch; his daughter: Margaret Kinch Harner; his sister: Janet D. Henry; and, his brothers: C. Max Kinch and E. Dale Kinch.
He is survived by his son: William P. (Bonnie) of Elizabethville; and, his grandsons: Adam Harner, Jared Harner, Ryan Kinch, Aaron Kinch, and Chad Kinch.
There will be a first Viewing from 06:00 - 08:00 PM on Tuesday, April 05, 2011 in Hoover Funeral Homes & Crematory Incorporated, 6011 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg.
There will be a second Viewing from 09:00 - 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 06, 2011 in Linglestown Life United Methodist Church, 1430 N. Mountain Road, Harrisburg. Funeral Services will begin at 10:00 AM with Rev. George S. Reynolds and Pastor Adam Estep officiating.
Interment in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
