Nona Yvonne (Floyd) Eaves

Nona Yvonne (Floyd) Eaves, 74, St. Joseph, formerly of El Dorado Springs, was born July 15, 1936, to David E. and Lizzie (Shaw) Floyd. She passed away on March 28, 2011, at Heartland Hospital in St. Joseph.

Nona was united in marriage to Curtis B. Eaves on May 9, 1953. To this union three children were born - Joe Benjamin, Betty Ann and Brenda Kay.

Nona worked at Walmart/Sam's Club for 19 years as a People Greeter. Her greatest pleasures were her two great-granddaughters. She also loved watching wrestling, fishing and playing bingo.

Nona was preceded in death by her husband and her parents, as well as four brothers - Cecil, Sherman, Carl and Billie; and three sisters - Wilma Gray, Fern Mooney and Helen Sumner.

Nona is survived by her three children - Joe and wife, Ellen – Belton, Betty Ann Hutchens and Brenda Kay Eaves; one grandson, Daniel Hutchens; two great-granddaughters, Alexis and Reagan - all of St. Joseph; one sister, Edna Cowan - North Kansas City; two brothers, Tommie - Springfield, and Jim - El Dorado Springs.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, April 1, in Bland-Hackleman Chapel in El Dorado Springs with Rev. David Church officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, March 31, at the funeral home.

Internment will be in Wright Cemetery under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be - Bob Floyd, Roger Floyd, Dennis Floyd, Ronnie Floyd, Randy Cowan, Chance Cyr, Trent Floyd and Josh Floyd.
