Cora Forgey was born September 21, 1886. Departed this life January 24, 1921, age 34 years, 4 months and 3 days. She was married to C. C. Gibson August 14, 1902. To this union was born 7 children of which one has gone on before. Cora was converted at the age of 13 years and united with the Mt. Zion Baptist church and remained a faithful member until death. She leaves a husband, 6 children, father, mother, 4 brothers, 2 sisters, and a host of friends to mourn their loss. She was a faithful wife and loving mother. She said she hated to leave Nat and the children but was prepared and ready to go. And now her toils on earth are done. Now she has gone to dwell where there is no pain, tears or sorrow, and ‘waiting her loved ones to come - Through all pain, at times she'd smile, A smile of Heavenly birth. And when the Angels called her home, She smiled farewell to earth. Heaven retains now our treasure, Earth the lonely casket keeps, And sunbeams love to linger Where our saited mother sleeps.
