According to his Washington State death record, William was the son of Albert E. Sargent and Mary E. Shattuck.

"OBITUARY - W. C. SARGENT

William Clarence, son of Albert E. and Mary Sargent was born in DeSoto, Wisconsin, June 20, 1865.

He was married to Cora F. Dadis in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, March 7, 1889.

Three daughters, Alda V., Gladys M., and Myrna R., and two sons, Roland C. and Glen E., came to bless this union, all of whom survive the passing of their father, to be the stay and comfort of their mother. The aged father also, with a brother and sister in Wisconsin and a sister in Minneapolis are left to mourn the going of their son and brother.

The greater part of Mr. Sargent's life was spent in Vernon County, Wisconsin. From there he came with his family to King county, Washington.

On January 22, 1916 he was taken to the Kent hospital stricken with typhoid fever, and from there passed to his reward, February 10. On February 11, funeral services attended by a large company of his friends and nieghbors, were held in the Chittenden parlors in Kent.

Mr. Sargent was a member of the M.W.A. and B. of A.Y., also a faithful member of Meridian Grange and King County Pomona Grange. He was a man of large public spirit, ever ready for any kind of work that he might do for the good of the community...
