Mrs. Jessie Elizabeth Billheimer, 95, of Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Christian Care Center in Johnson City following an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late Rev. A.M. and Jude Elizabeth Banner Laughrun and was born in Jonesborough. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of seventy-one years, Herbert G. Billheimer, who died on October 18, 2007; her step-mother, Blanche Barker Laughrun and eleven brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Billheimer was a former seamstress at H.M. Slagle and Son in Elizabethton. She also a former employee in the bakery at Giant Food Market. She loved to cook and share her cooking talent with her many friends. She also instilled her Christian values and her love of her Lord with her family and friends and loved to help others. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
The funeral service for Mrs. Billheimer will be conducted on Friday, August 17, 2012 at 8:00 PM in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Ron Owens and Mr. Paul Knapp, Minister, officiating. Music will be under the direction of Elmer Sams, Heather Sheri Carter and Brent Billheimer. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday prior to the service.
The graveside service and interment will be conducted on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Fairview Cemetery, Jonesborough.
