Ronald Gene Wilkinson passed away Saturday March 26, 2011 at his home in Casey County. He was 66. Born July 30, 1944 in Campbellville, KY , he is the son of the late Robert "Bob" and Marie Chapman Wilkinson. He was a gate hauler , Army veteran, and honorable Kentucky Colonel.
He is the loving father of six children, Shawn, Daniel and Tyler Wilkinson all of Liberty, Sherri Hoskins of Dunnville, and Christina Grant and Katie Wilkinson both of Liberty. Other survivors include a dear companion, Tina Merritt of Liberty; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Bobby Wilkinson of Liberty and sister, Charlotte Frie of Somerset.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and Hugh Wilkinson and two sisters, Vivian Tarter and Roberta Brown.
Funeral services is 11:00 a.m. Wednesday March 30 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bros. Jimmy Brown and J. R. Grant. Burial is at Mill Springs National Cemetery.
Visitation is Tuesday from 6:00-9:00 p.m. and will continue Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until funeral service. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donation to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
