The deceased was born in this city on Nov. 13, 1868, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Valentine Schwartz. As a youth Mr. Schwartz went to Ridgewood, Pa., where he found employment. On Aug. 29, 1888, he was married at Ridgewood to Miss Mary Steis. Six years later they came to this city, where they have lived since that time. Mr. Schwartz was blower engineer at the Mayville Iron company plant for many years.
Surviving are the widow, and the children, Mrs. Peter Bath, St. Louis, Mo.; Mrs. Philip Bath, this city; Miss Katherine Schwartz, and Francis Schwartz, this city. Three sisters, Mrs. Joseph Medlin, residing in California; Mrs. Max Heimerl, West Allis; Mrs. T. J. Bening, this city, and ten grandchildren also survive.
Last rites were held on Saturday morning at St. Mary's Catholic church at 9 o'clock with the Rev. Fr. Luke, O. C. D., of Holy Hill officiating. Burial took place in Graceland cemetery.
