Billie Joe Bean, age 71, of Tompkinsville, passed away Friday, April 1, 2011 at the Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville.

He was born in Monroe County, KY on July 20, 1939 to the late Delbert Bean and Jewell Hargis Bean. He was united in marriage on November 28, 1959 to Pauline Hance. He was a retired inspector for Cummins Engine Company and a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Columbus, IN where he was also a deacon.

He is survived by his wife Pauline Hance Bean of Tompkinsville, four daughters and sons-in-law: Cheri & Larry Arnett and Pamela & Nathaniel Murray all of Tompkinsville,

Teresa & Thomas O'Farrell of Groton, Connecticut and Amy & Jeffrey Thompson of Columbus, IN, four brothers: Tommy Bean of Clarksville, IN, Bobby Bean of Hohenwald, TN, Jimmy Bean of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Steve Bean of Ft. Run, KY, two sisters: Iva Mae Thompson Burruss and Betty Jean Grider both of Tompkinsville, a special care giver: Mike Green of Gamaliel, 9 Grandchildren, 2 Great-grandchildren

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, April 4, 2011 at 2:000 PM at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial to follow in the Beautiful Home Cemetery.
