Steve Augusta Daniel was born March 17. 1907 and died Apr 8. 1980, He was the only son Elmer and Alma Daniel. The “name’ of his blood line died with him. He married Leola Faye Fore (born March 25, 1913) on September 30, 1933. She was a girl in the community where he was raised.
They farmed 2 years in Lanely !hen moved to Houston. Steve drove a truck hauling heavy equ1pment and oilfield supplies.
On Apr I 25 1938 a girl was born, Wanda Marie Daniel, His only child.
In 1941 he got his hand in the fan of a truck, motor. It cut off the last knuckles of 3 fingers if his right hand. 0ne was sewn back on the others, stitched up.
Ha bought his dozer In 1944 and, in 1945 moved to Crockett in Houston County. He and Leola bought a farm and there they stayed until 1953. They then bought a cafe In Killeen to get easier work for Steve. He had had heart attack prior and had doctor’ s orders to quit heavy equipment. They sold the cafe in 1954 and moved back to Crockett. He died in his home after having 3 heart attacks and having a pacemaker put in 7 months before he died.
Steve was a jolly person. He loved to pull pranks and loved small children. His greatest joy was his two grandchildren. He lived for them the last years of his life.
Wanda Marie Daniel was born April 25, 1938 and married April 26, 1958 to Bobby Lee Parker.
