Roy "Bill" Kimsey

Masonic funeral Services for Upton resident Roy "Bill" Kimsey will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 11 at Upton United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Upton Greenwood Cemetery.

Dick Claar is officiating the services. Kimsey died unexpectedly Saturday, Aug. 6, 1994, at his ranch south of Moorcroft on Buffalo Creek. He was 70.

He was born NOv. 15, 1923, at Oshoto to Roy e. and Pearl (Tallman) Kimsey. He lived in Oshoto for 13 years.

From 1975-1977, he lived in Pumpkin Buttes in Campbell Couinty, then he moved to the Kimsey ranch, where he lived until his death.

He attended school in Upton and graduated in 1943. In 1945, he married Martha jean Saterfield and later had four children: Robert, Francis, Virginia and Dave.

Kimsey married Marit Isane on June 18, 1966, and had three children; Kennedy, Kaare, and Katrine.

He owned and operated a water service and the Black Dragon Bar in Moorcroft. He was also a member of Upton Lodge #38 AF&AM and the Kalif Shrine of Sheridan.

Kimsey is survived by his sons Kennedy of Upton, Kaare of Moorcroft, Dave of Tonapah, Nev., and Francis of Worland; and his daughters Katrine Burckhard of Upton and Virginia Kimberlain of Sayer, Ark; one sister Edith Norris of Upton; 18 grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marit in 1986, his son Robert, his sisters Eleanor Kimsey and Evelyn Claar; and his brother Robert Kimsey.

A memorial has been established to Shriiners Cripple Children's Hospital. Contributions can be sent in care of Kaare Kimsey, P.O. Box 354, Moorcroft, WY 82730.




Roy first marriage was to Martha Jean Satterfield, they latter divorced.
