Obituary: Service for Glen Floyd Fear, 65, of Hayesville, was held Sunday afternoon at the Reynolds Funeral chapel in Sigourney, with the Rev. W. H. Cross, officiating and burial was in the Conner cemetery. Mr. Fear died suddenly at his farm home north of Hayesville on Thursday, July 4. He was born August 2, 1897, on a farm two and one-half miles east of Delta, the son of Daniel O. and Amanda Pence Fear. On June 15, 1917, he was married to Jessie Mae Davis, who passed away several years ago. His entire life was spent in Keokuk county. He was preceded in death by his wife, two daughters in infancy, Helen Minnie, Eva Lois and three brothers, Alvin, Melvin and Dean, and one sister, Mrs. Irene Rose. A brother and sister died in infancy. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Thelma Shipley and Mrs. Orville Thompson, both of Sigourney; and Mrs. Veda Ewald of What Cheer. Six grandchildren, Larry and Gary Shipley. Mrs. Margery Veach, Gaila Thompson of Sigourney; Sandra and Shirley Ewald of What Cheer and three great-grandchildren, Philip Shipley, Robin Shipley, and Rhonda Veach. Pall bearers were Everette Fox, Harold Yahn, Leonard Tygart, Bill Mertz, Rex Utterback and Don Brinning.
