Dickerson Man Dies In Crash
The News (Frederick, MD) March 26, 1973

A 24-year-old Dickerson man was killed when a pickup truck he was driving crashed into the east side of the Potomac River bridge at Point of Rocks Sunday night shortly before midnight.

Franklin Henry Magaha of Rt. 2 Dickerson, died of internal injuries when his 1972 pickup truck failed to negotiate a slight turn on U.S. 15 and crashed into the bridge on the Maryland side. State Police reports indicate that driver error and speed greater than reasonable and prudent during heavy rain were the apparent reasons for the fatal accident.

Magaha was taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital by the Carroll Manor ambulance crew. He was pronounced dead on arrival by Dr. Robert J. Thomas, deputy medical examiner for Frederick County.
