Betty was born in Springfield, Illinois on March 7, 1924, to William and Francene Squires, the oldest of two children. She spent her childhood in Springfield, where she met her future husband, Robert (Jack) Alexander. Betty and Jack were married on Aug. 16, 1945.
After their marriage they lived in Clayton, IL, where they operated a service station before homesteading north of Middleton in the Black Canyon area in March of 1951. Betty and Jack were blessed with four children: Susan, Dian, Robert and Laurie.
Betty is survived by her brother, Donald William (Mary Frances) Squires, of Springfield, IL; daughters: Susan Montgomery, of Caldwell, Dian Bora, of Boise, and Laurie (Brian) Smith, of Notus; son, Robert (Sandee), of Middleton; 11 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Robert (Jack) Alexander.
